S. Korea's NSC to hold emergency meeting over N. Korean missile threats

09:31 August 10, 2017

SEOUL, Aug. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae called for an emergency meeting of the National Security Council on Thursday, the office said, apparently to discuss North Korea's fresh threat to stage a missile provocation against the United States.

The NSC meeting will be held at 3 p.m., chaired by President Moon Jae-in's top security adviser and National Security Office chief Chung Eui-yong, according to Cheong Wa Dae.

The special meeting comes after the North's Korean People's Army again warned of a missile exercise that will include launching four ballistic missiles fired at the sea around the U.S.-controlled island of Guam in the Pacific.
