(Asian Games) S. Korean swimmer Kang Ji-seok wins bronze in men's 50m backstroke

JAKARTA, Aug. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean swimmer Kang Ji-seok won a bronze medal at the 18th Asian Games on Monday after finishing third in the men's 50-meter backstroke.

Kang clocked 25.17 seconds at the Aquatic Center at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Sports Complex in Jakarta to take the bronze in the men's 50m backstroke.

Xu Jiayu of China won the event with a time of 24.75, followed by Ryosuke Irie of Japan at 24.88.

The 23-year-old South Korean reached the final after finishing first in his qualification heat with 25.29.
