SEOUL, Feb. 14 (Yonhap) -- Park Sung-hyun, world No. 2 in women's golf from South Korea, formally announced a new sponsorship deal with a Philippines-based hotel brand on Thursday.
Park, 25, has signed a two-year deal with Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels. Under the terms of the agreement, she will wear the logo of Solaire Resort & Casino, which is run by Bloomberry, across her headware.
The new contract replaces her previous partnership with South Korea's Hana Financial Group.
Financial terms of the new deal will not be disclosed under a mutual agreement, but when the signing was first announced in a press release last week, the player's Seoul-based agency, SEMA Sports Marketing, said it was the richest sponsorship deal in women's golf history.
After earning the top player honors on the South Korean tour in 2016, Park took her talent to the LPGA Tour the following year. She won the U.S. Women's Open for her first major title and another tournament en route to earning both the Player of the Year and the Rookie of the Year awards in 2017. Park, who also reached the No. 1 ranking during her rookie year, was the first LPGA player since Nancy Lopez in 1978 to capture both individual honors in the same season.
Last year, Park added three more titles, including her second career major at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
Park called her latest deal "incredible" and said it has given her extra motivation to train hard for the new season.
"Last year, I accomplished my goal of winning three times, and I think I should keep raising the bar every year," she said. "I feel great about the state of my game. I've won five times over the past two years, and I'll try to win five tournaments this year, including a major."
Park will make her 2019 season debut next week at Honda LPGA Thailand.
