SEOUL, Feb. 14 (Yonhap) -- LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo has met with science and engineering students during the conglomerate's annual tech conference, delivering a message that he wants people like them to lead his business group.
Koo picked LG Science Park in western Seoul as his first field visit Wednesday after taking office in late June last year. Meeting with the students enrolled in master's and doctorate programs, Koo said the choice was based on his "firm belief that technology is important in fulfilling LG's dream to become the most loved company by customers and the society," according to the business group.
"We will give active support so people with enormous talent can lead future technologies and realize their dreams," Koo was quoted as saying. He emphasized his determination to create the best research environment to produce a top-class human pool for R&D, the company said.
LG started holding the tech conference in 2012 as a venue for senior executives to communicate the company's business plans and concepts. This year's meeting focused on technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, including artificial intelligence, OLED, new materials, auto parts, batteries and biotech, LG said.
